Seth Caplan is an artist and photographer. His work regards the intersection of the social, the spatial and the self. He discusses how we see ourselves in our connections with others, as well as in our relationships with the places we inhabit. Seth is interested in exploring how cultural norms affect these relationships, especially in the blurred boundaries of public and private space, and in natural and constructed interactions.
Seth grew up just outside New York City and received his BFA in visual art from Washington University in St. Louis with a concentration in Photography. He also studied art and Spanish in Santiago, Chile. Outside of photography, he enjoys sculpture, the book, installation and working with mixed media. Seth is currently based in Brooklyn, NY and works in photography and art education. He has exhibited his work in various cities including St. Louis, Philadelphia and Santiago. Please see his BLOG for recent work, news and updates.
Seth is available for freelance assignments. You can request a portfolio of his commercial work HERE.
